“We are not ‘Taymeeyoon.’”
Al-Hudaa wan-Noor, 164.
He is one of the greatest scholars of Islam
in what matters we shouldnt follow him?
If we find a teaching that is not aligned with the Qur’aan and Sunnah, then we do not follow him in that particular matter.
Blind following is when you follow someone to a level where you will follow him in no matter what daleel from the Qur’aan and Sunnah is presented to you.
No human is perfect, thus We must remember that the Prophet صل الله علي و سلم is a greater man to follow.
Great reply. Any examples of where Sh. Ibn Taymeeyah did not follow Qur’aan and sunnah … Of course, he is a human being and prone to error. I am really trying to understand some of the issues where he may have erred ……
Assalaamualaikum kamsmart, I don’t think it’s necessary to put too much focus on finding his errors. Most of what I’ve found while studying is just fiqh issues that have a huge difference of opinions between the blessed scholars of ahlussunnah. Nothing major to worry about. The most crucial point to keep in mind is to not put him above the level of our Prophet صل الله عليه وسلم.
